About this adventure
A dragon and its rider have been summoned by the Crown to rescue Lady Cordelia Ashworth, a noblewoman held captive in the Blackspire Tower by the sorcerer Malachai. However, Lady Cordelia has no interest in being rescued — she's struck a deal with Malachai to study forbidden magic in exchange for her cooperation. The dragon rider must navigate the tension between royal duty, the dragon's growing fondness for Cordelia's irreverent humor, and Cordelia's own dangerous ambitions.
Prologue
The wind howls through the Shattered Peaks, carrying whispers of unease. For months, a shadow has grown around Blackspire Tower, where rumors say the sorcerer Malachai plots in seclusion. Now, a desperate summons has reached the Crown, and a dragon and rider have been dispatched to answer it. Lady Cordelia Ashworth is the reason for the summons. Held captive in the tower, she is a bargaining chip, a threat, a prize to be won. But the truth hidden within Blackspire's walls is far more tangled than a simple rescue. Alliances will be tested. Loyalties will fray. And the fate of a kingdom may hang on the choices made in the shadow of the peaks.
